Whenever you visit Singapore, you should not skip Supertree grove. Skipping this garden-themed park is just like missing a part of your life when you visit Singapore. This billion dollar garden architecture is simply stunning!
A home of other plants
Supertree grove considered as one of the most brilliant and mega architectures of the world. Each of the Supertree acts like a real tree. It serves as a host to other plants such as unique and exotic ferns, vines, orchids and also a vast collection of bromeliads such as Tillasandia, amongst other plants.
Not just your ordinary tree
Not just your ordinary tree, it also converts natural energy to run the vicinity. It is made up of environmental technologies that mimic the ecological function of trees – photovoltaic cells that harness solar energy that can be used for some of the functions of the Supertrees, such as lighting, just like how trees photosynthesize; and collection of rainwater for use in irrigation and fountain shows, just like how real trees absorb rainwater for growth.
A great experience
We visited Supertree Grove at sunset and we wandered around until it gets dark. We did not have any plans to spend half of the night around Supertree. We were just wandering spontaneously. All we wanted is to capture a picture around the Supertree. However, when we were about to go home, we noticed a lot of people gathered around the groove. So, we just decided to stay and eat some foods. Unexpectedly, the light show happened next.
Fortunately, we were able to bring human sized scarves, so we lay down on it above the ground. The transition of the sparkling lights coordinated perfectly with the music. So, it was like being in a dream fantasy. It was a perfect timing; we consider it as the highlight of our Singapore trip.
Where in the world can you experience this dazzling music and light composition for free! It is only in Singapore. Just take note that the show starts 7:45 pm to 8:45 pm daily.
